I run the stage 3 440 ,but its 12.5to1 so I really didnt lose any bottom but mid to high rpm is where its best so I guess its time for a rev box ,cause the more you give her the more she goes & the power hasnt tapered off at all ! just depends what type of ridin you want to do if mine werent geared so high with 22''s in back it would probably be a powerhouse down low also but with the revs up a bit its still pretty strong.

If you're getting a high compression, 87mm (416) piston, any of those cams will make an improvement throughout the powerband. The old stage 2 is probably what you're thinking of. That cam is now called the stage three, and the new stage 2 is in the middle, power output-wise, of the old 1 & 2. My stage 1 made big improvements everywhere, but it definitely pulls hardest through the bottom and midrange. The old stage 2 (now 3) is made to make the best power in the upper rpm range, but with as much torque as this engine has, you'll still have plenty of low end. If you're not a revver, you may want to go with the new stage 2, or even the stage 1.
