As the title says, I just ordered a 416 kit (JE 10.8:1), hot cams stage 2 also.

I've been running a 14T counter for years, with pleasant results. Do you think if I I put the 15T back on with my new upgrades I still maintain my strong lowend grunt for trails? I know the cam is for more topend, but will the higher comp. piston provide enough bottom for the 15T counter??

I guess what I'm looking for is the same amount of bottom end as now (w/ the 14T counter), but with more topend/speed.

Thanks.

if youre only runnin 20''s in back the 15 tooth should be fine I used to run 14/39for years with22''s on the back & itwas still strong bottom end & fast ,now that its a high comp. 440 with 15/38 & still run 22''s & didnt lose much with the revs up a little it has very strong bottom end & retarded top speed.

15 on the front is mint with 20"rears. I run a 16 with 20" rears sometimes.

i have a 416 also, 10.8:1 w/ hotcam stage 2, and definitely use teh 15 tooth, i had a 14 w/ o engine mods and with the engine kit there pretty much was no 1st gear....but with the 15 its just right

what bore is the 416 again...like size? i forgot

with my stock length swingarm I liked the 16 better. less wheelies, so I could use the power better. But I got a +1 1/4" swingarm so went back to the 15. I never use first on the track. Mint for trails tho. 2nd gear for me is almoast like 1st gear on the 05 honda 450r.
