my thumb throtte is so hard to push it hurts after 2-3 laps my friends 400's thumb throttle is nice and easy but mine is rock hard any ideas.

loosen the knob on the handle bar under the rubber cover. Its supposed to adjust the thrumb throttle. Look at the manual that came with the quad.

i dont like twist, twist are for dirtbikes not quads

first get a new cable,also a cable oiler and a can of wd-40,lube the cable ,take the cap off throttle housing, lube the linkage and spring,do the same to the carb linkages,will make a big differance,also if your new to thumb throttles ,just keep ridin,it will get better.

I heard WD-40 is bad for the cable, i was told to use silicone spray.

First thing to do is replace the cable.

Remove the top of the throttle housing at the thumb throttle and spray the spring area with WD.

This will make it work like new.

my machines have always lived in a bath of wd-40,displaces moisture,fights rust and corrosion,makes them shine pretty good too!just try not to get it on the rotors it takes a while to wear off.
