Hi,

I have a yfz 450 and I never realized it before, But my quad revs really quick. When i'm in 1st and 2nd and even is 3rd gear sometimes, i haveto switch really quick. How can i fix this? Should i get a new front sprocket? i want to bike to be faster in 5th gear.. Would this help? How much does it cost to get the Cam mod done? about..thanks

get a one tooth smaller rear sprocket or for a more drastic change get a one tooth bigger front sprocket. either way your top end will increase on each gear

the sproket would be the cheapest fix but it will also make it feel like you lost powre, the best thing to do is either a hi comp piston or get a fly wheel weight

With stock gearing ... 18 inch rear tire and a pipe ... I'm having the same problem . This thing is bouncing off the rev limiter WAY too quickly . Time to change gearing !!!

I went down to a 38t on the rear and put a White Brothers rev box on and it made a big difference. I also went up a tooth in the front and raced it on an asphalt drag strip and pulled all the way through 1000' but I weigh about 220lbs. My friend who weighs about 130lbs had it topped out at about 82mph going through the 1000'.

Exactly what Im experiencing...i got 18 klaw mxrs and stock gearing and im all over the rev limiter in 4th around the track. Does the chain need an extra link for the 15t front or just loosen it up a bit?

rev boxes usually make them rev quicker but the limiter is higher. either regear or get a stroker crank to from the dirtbike to make it 450 youll get a bunch of tourque and slow down the revs a little bit

I went one tooth up in the front with stock rear and it rips just fine. I am using a stock cdi. Very anxiuos to see how the wr runs though
