I'm looking at getting my 450r shocks redone. I was just wondering what your guy's opinion is on both of these. I've heard good things about both and both are priced the same ($615 I believe) except Derisi's price includes a rear link. I've talked to both and both seem to know their stuff, just wanted some opinions.

All comes down to wheather or not you want to change the link to have your quad sit lower or not.

Does JH have a web site?

the link to his web-site is in my sig...his conversion is $575, for all three shocks. at least thats what his web-site says....

best thing to do is call him....his phone number is 918-371-0101, ask for Johnny. he can tell ya more than by looking at his website....

I actually live about 3 hours away from C&D and I have heard good reviews in person about their set up. It seems like every forum has their own "must go to guy" Here it is C&D racing, on the HQ it is Derisi, on the .Org it is Gt Thunder. It just seems like the people on this forum are more unbiased than the other forums So I thought I would ask.

C&D said they could eliminate about 90% of the bucking in the rear and get me 1" more travel in the rear using the stock linkage. Derisi says he can eliminate all of the bucking in the rear, more travel and lower the quad for the same price which includes a linkage. C&D said they are working on a linkage but just don't have it done yet.

I seriously don't know who to go to on this yet.

Not to knock the site sponser, but if Derisi is offering the same deal, plus a new linkage, that is the deal I would personally go for.

Both have good reputations for performing good work.

But in the end, it's your quad, and your money, so you should get what you feel is the best deal for you.

A revalve with a new link will perform slightly better than a revalve no link. The link changes the motion ratio, and getting the shocks purchased with a new link, the shocks will then be revalved to maximize performance with the motion ratio of that new link.

Just my 2 cents.

C & D rebuilds are supposed to be top notch, but I've personally had really good luck dealing with Santo on several different bikes. The DeRisi link works really well on the 450R.

Id say it depends on what riding you do. If you race xc you obviously dont want to loose any ride height. But for mx i have to derisi just for the rear link.

GT Thunder is the only company that touches my shocks....

I'm going to have JH racing convert the rear with the GT Thunder link!

I'll second that, Laz is the Man when it comes to shock rebuilding, hands down.

Ive got the same setup and yes it was a HUGE improvement over stock without the big price tag.

Santo Derisi is a pretty good guy to deal with too. One down side is it took a while for me to get my shocks back but he said it was the springs he was waiting for the hole time so i guess it was out of his hands.

Gt Thunder is awsome too but i like my Derisi setup a bit better. My buddy has the GT Thunder setup.

I hear good things from C&D too. Guess im no help here

I decided to go with Derisi. Mainly cause of the price. All 3 shocks revalved and resprung, zps all around, and a long travel link for $615. And he guarntees everyting.

Thanks! I like Derisis dual rate fronts better but GTT has a good idea on fronts also, he shortens shock body to gain more travel. I talked to both and they each have good ideas. Does C&D do them or send them out?THANKS!
