Just a few snap shots of the '06 in action over the past couple of weeks. Should have some pictures or footage from our Arenacross pro race this past weekend, i'll snag 'em later!

Also got the new JH Racing MX linkage for the '06 450R installed on the bike now, handles much better than stock link. The shock has also been resprung and revalve (ZPS/dual-rate setup). If you're looking for a linkage, wouldnt be a bad choice.

Love everything about the '06 except the e-start, i hate it with a passion to be honest. Other than that, the motor rocks and it handles like a dream just like my '04 did. It'll be tore down about the middle of december for powdercoating n' such.....

Just been having issues with it not wanting to start when its cold. We've checked timing and the valves, all good to go there! Changed jetting a couple times, no such luck :( We can pull start it and it'll turn right over as soon as you let out on the clutch n' the tires grab. Once you get it initially fired off, it will start just fine all day. It runs like a champ too, no problems there! My honda shop is gonna warranty me a new battery and see if that works out 'cause I did pretty much kill the old battery. But I stuck it on the trickle charger and juiced it back up, so I dont know.....

I actually like the convienence of the e-start a lot when it works  I do dearly miss my kicker though :D

I'm sure its something really simple and dumb, Honda stuff is rock solid! I love the bike, this motor rocks!!

Hahaha! I've seriously considered doing that.....i got a lil' electric heater, might start plugging that thing in at night in my trailer. Like the night before a race so the bike will be somewhat in a warm enviroment.

I got a new battery earlier, gonna make sure its charged when I get back home friday and throw it in the bike. See if it'll fire the beast up!!

The hard starting sounds like a typical Honda really. I have problems with my 400 in the cold as well...

i havent had this problem with my 06 trx but i have an 05 crf motor in my wlash chassis and it sux to start when its cold.its the FCR carb that now sits on the trx.from what ive read this is a common problem on crf's when its cold.try wicking the throttle 2-3 times before you start it.the motor needs and extremly rich condition to start when its cold and rapping the throttle prior to starting will help.

MY crf WOULD NOT!!!!!! start with out acouple of twists of the throttle be for starting even with choke. some times it would start and then die,so you would do it again till it stayed running. cold here!!!. (FCR carbs great for power, not for starting.):D

MY 2 cents.

Yeah, we changed jetting a few times. Right now I've got a 165 main with 42 pilot....think i should go back to the 170 main and 45 pilot then?

I think i'm seriously gonna put my lil' electric heater up next to it next time, like before I go ride....or leave it in there the night before.....

Is there anyone that's having slow starting troubles with their '06 that keeps their bike on a Batttery Tender when not in use?

RedRacer44

Been meaning to get a battery tender but my trickle charger works alright. Leave it hooked up and it'll charge the battery till its fully charged and then kick off. It kicks back on if the juice drops in the battery so it all works out

But it still wont start :( Gonna try this new battery and see what happens!!

once it starts just hold the idle up with the throttle.

yea i would go back up to a 45 pilot, especially for the winter.in my crf manual it says to raise the pilot when it gets colder.

Here in Indiana its been very cold already.I blip throttle 4 or 5 times on my 06,it always starts right up. U can adjust idle up a little, that helps alot.
