I would go with the 416 kit and then when it needs to be rebuilt you can go with the 426 kit.

ditto, i have ridden both and i say do the 416 for now then go to teh 426 later. power is great on both but the 426 has a lot more torque than the 416. right now i have a426 and love it but when i have to rebuild i am going to a 416 so i can go back to teh 426 later and have to resleeve less. i would never go 440, but thats just me.

well opinions are like buttholes everbody has one...what I would do is put a pipe on it for now and see how that does for him...unless its blown up why bore it... My mods are in my sig and just those few lil things made a pretty big diffrence to me...if that is al ist of the mods on his 400ex already please forgive me.. bore it out or buy a 450R

i have a 440 kit i love it i dont have any problems. it all depends who does the work i got a guy to do mine that was highly recomended i would ask around in your area the local racers will tell you thats what i did. a 416 is nice too 426 is also nice i like them all but its what you are riding in xc mx or just trail you decide

im putten a 440 in mine in 3 or 4 more weeks. 1 of my buddys hav 1 on his 400 and it made a world of difference, its tough 2 had it in over a year and its doin fine. i dont know nuthin about the 416 or 426's though. But id say they would work pretty good 2.
