I find the wackiest things when I am searching on Yahoo Auction Japan. I'm almost tempted to buy this thing just for the heck ot it.

you wouldn't be able to have a cr500 street legal in the U.S because of the pollution right?

emission laws are left up to the states, not the federal government. So in california the cr500 may not be able to become street legal but in iowa it could (just an example). And states like california, oregon and a few others are really cracking down on pollotion in the air and noise pollution

Yea cause you can get street legal quads here in oregon but not two strokes, only two stroke you can have is if the bike was grandfathered in.

I thought that they said a long time ago you can't have a 2-stroke on the street period bik or quad

here in VA emissions are tested on vehicles only in certain counties. I believe all bikes are exempt from emissions testing. As long as the bike can pass a state inspection it is road legal. Working headlight, tail light, brake indicator light, horn, and one rear view mirror. Street rated tires are a must also. From what I can see of this bike, it should be legal in most places in the US.

I know you guys can't read Japanese but you will get a kick out of the 50cc ATV's in this link (http://search1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/search?sb=desc,cat&desc=atv&cat=26318&auccat=26318&acc=jp&apg=1&f=0x52&s1=end&o1=a&alocale=0jp&mode=1).

Nothing like $300 ATV's selling for $3000 just because you can register it for street use.
