I have had my 2000 400ex for some time now and put lots and lots of hours on it. It still runs great I have done oil changes after every 30hr. or so. Now i am hearing a clicking noise I dont rember it doing that before. It still runs fine and I have searced on here and after reading I think the valves need adjusting. I read on the articles how to do it and I dont want to screw somthing up. So I think I might let the honda dealer do it or a shop thats not far from my house do it. How much money am I looking at spending on this? any ideas? any help would help me out alot
thanks,
Brian

Good question. I'd like to know also. I know it will vary from region to region, but it would be nice to have general idea.

do it yourself, believe me. The dealers will charge you a ton and you can do it in about 30 mins or less. Just follow the instructions and when you're done put the tank back on and fire it up and listen to the valves. If they sound like the did when you got it then you're fine. if not just pull it off and try again. Very easy.

$100-200$ if you take it to a honda dealer is gonna be higher

a local shop would be a little cheaper more than likely
