she has a lt80 right now, that i will be selling soon. motor is all new, tires all new. she says it runs great, but she is getting a little big for it. i dont know what to replace it with. she is 12 years old weighs about 90lbs.
i realy dont want to put her on a bigger quad like a trx250ex or something like that i'am thinking that is to much??
any ideas?

A couple friends and I have been discussing that lately. We don't know what to put our kids on after they outgrow the 90cc quads.

We have decided a yamaha 125 badger would probalby be slower then a lot of the 90cc quads. My thought was a stock blaster since they are so small in size or a 300ex.

i think a blaster or a 300ex is to much right now.
the lt80 pulls her ok, but she just wants a little more. i might get a predator 90 and put a pipe on it and try that, plus they have reverse now.
any thoughts on the predator 90??

I am 5'11" and I raced a season of XC on one. It was loaded with hetrick parts and that kept me happy until I got my 300ex. :D The only problem we had was that I cracked the swingarm but that is because I weigh 130

Both of my kids ride Lt80's right now. Friend of ours has a pred 90 for his boy. My boy out runs him 100% of the time. A lot of that is my boy he has no fear. His LT80 also has a wiseco piston and clutch mod not sure if that matters but his seems to be a lot faster then the other 2 LT80's that ride with him all the time. I do think the pred is a good machine, reverse would be dang nice.

My boy is getting a new quad for Christmas and it will be a TRX90. Only doing it because his LT80 is an 87 model and has been breaking down to much for as often as we ride. The TRX90 is bigger size wise then the other mini quads.

Personnally I think all the new quads must be pretty good or they wouldn't be in business. I'm choosing the TRX because its a 4 stroke, semi auto so he learns how to shift. It has a foot operated rear brake, not many of the 90cc quads offer that, to me that is a must have. Also I have seen some fairly cheap suspension mods for the TRX that I plan on getting.

yea i might also check in the the trx90.
her lt 80 is all stock. motor is fresh, milled head, clutch mod.
how much faster will the trx90 be? i know the honda motor has proven it will last!!
that was the only thing that bothered me about the predator90 was the motor. the honda is easy to work on and it is 4 stroke.
any other ideas please help!!

does suzuki still make the 160? if so, that or one of the off brands would be your only choice...there is def. a gap in that segment

i dont think they make the 160 any more, and yamah dont make the brezze any more ether. i would of thought they would be good sellers.

I saw an Eton 150 today just flying.
I bet you can get hop up parts from Hetrick too.

Alpha Sport has some 180 Automatic quads.

no offence but i want a name brand quad. not a e-ton, or alpha.
i have no place to get parts for those.

I stepped up to a Blaster about that age, they really are pretty small and very eary to ride in stock form, heck I even have one that we need to sell if you are interested :D everyone in my family has out grown them

the kid has never rode a manuel clutch quad. i just thought a auto will be easyer for her
she saw a grizzly 125 on the net, and likes it. i might look at it??
all she does is trail riding, and on the beach at my uncles place.

my little sister just turned 12 and we traded her lt 80 in for a new 2006 honda 250 recon. she is not a very aggressive or fast rider at all and she loves it. she didn't ride her lt 80 that much but she has a great time on the 250 recon. the shifter is on the handlebars, has reverse, has a foot back brake, electric start, a great motor, no clutch, and has a rack on it. i would go with the 2006 trx 90 or the 2006 250 recon. i am 5'7'' 120 pounds and my 90 is way small. so i now have a 2006 300 ex but i am a very aggressive and fast rider.

i got a 250ex when i was 11 and i thought it was a good quad to learn how to shift and it has a sport quad feel. its also good in the woods because it wont stall when you stop in gear. i dont think it will be too much if she is moving up and already knows how to ride.
