What is a good deal for a 06' TRX450ER? I've been quoted $7660 out the door with the HRC kit. I'm in Utah.

There is another thread here somewhere , with alot of responses to the same question. Do a quick search to see what everyone else paid for theirs. $ 6045 OTD. Bought in WVA

Well I managed to get the dealer down to $7400 otd today. I spoke with a salesman at Plaza Cycle, the best they would do is about $7600. When I told him I could get one for $7400, he said it was a screaming good deal for the 450ER with the HRC kit installed and that his manager wouldn't let him go that low. Seems obvious that the best deals will come from the dealers with the lowest overhead. Unfortunately, most dealers here in Salt Lake have fairly new and large facilities and all their customers are paying it.

Jersey,

Thanks for your response. I'm not dealing with Plaza Cycle on this. They only noted that my $7400 quote from another dealer was a great deal and that they couldn't match it. I've checked with 5 Utah dealers and $7400 is the best deal that I've gotten for the 06'. I've been offered the 05' with the HRC kit for about $6600 otd.

good thing he "payed attention" huh? and by the way i got mine from there and when your financing it they lay it all out and after i financed mine with 500 down they showed me what i would be paying and its only around 6800. so "pay attention" a little closer next time buddy. and dont jump on somebodys throat just because they are replying with something that could helpsomebody out. im sorry but last time i checked most people prefer to save money and that includes checking out all the options.

you mean your going to sit here and tell me that if i went to tennessee with $5733 cash, not a penny more, i would walk out of there with a brand new, 2006 Honda TRX450R? unlikely.

To all,

Thanks for all your input here. I sure didn't intend for it to create any bad feelings, but rather to help me gather information for all of our use. I cannot speak for anyone outside of Utah, but I've done some fairly extensive research here and a 2006 TRX450ER cannot be had for less that $6900 otd at this time. Like I noted previously, my best quotes have come from small town dealers that have minimal overhead. My best deal, with the HRC kit installed is $7400. My worst deal has been $8290. ATVs might be more expensive here due to the demand. Generally speaking, if you live in Utah and don't have an ATV, you want one. Additionally, resell here is often 15-25% higher than the blue book. Demand is huge. FYI, a 2005 TRX450R can be had for about $6100 otd.
I've got my 2006 being put together right now. I can only hope it performs as well as most on this forum report. Hopefully $1000 better.

Sorry for the long post.

Thanks again.

Brad

just and FYI...you may not have to pay sales taxes b/c you bought the quad in TN but...I was told that TN titles the ATV now and they cannot title the quad for you if you live in another state..therfore you have to go back to wherever it is that you live and in order to get the title you have to pay sales tax...no escape..

The place is called ARS powersports # is 800-356-8973 and they take trad ins. Thats were I am going as soon as I sell my 04 400EX

but lets be honest...most people that are buying a 450r dont have 6000K to pay cash for a 4wheeler and if they do they probably not gonna buy a 4 wheeler. ....and for 6000K you dont want to have a title? Im sure the next person who wants it probably will. you always need a title..not just when you finance it

I don't understand why the $5,733 is so hard to believe. A local dealer around here said OTD $6,300 when it first came out. I called Chicago Cycle Center, asked if they could beat it, and laughed at that price. When the dealers have so many units, they can sell for cheaper.

What is the purpose of a title? You can't drive it on the street. I don't have a title for any of my quads but I do have the Certificate of Origin and the sales receipt. Progressive Insurance doesn't require a title.

So, what is the purpose of a title again?

2006 electric start $5799.00 (OUT THE DOOR) CASH

I have this is writing- out the door price.

Officially, you are supposted to register any motorcycle or ATV in Missouri, where I live. This means I pay sales tax when I register the bike. Then I get a title.

When you buy a new ATV, the dealer will issue you a 'bill of sale'. A 'bill of sale' is just as good as a title for off-road vehicles. This goes for when you sell the bike, also.

I am sure this the same for all states....

I really dont care what you say...you still have to pay taxes in order to get the title

But why do you care to get the title? What purpose does it serve?

You seem more upset that some people are paying much less. I haven't paid dime one in taxes for any of my 3 current quads nor the 3 previous ones. I ride them all the time in every state around me and they are insured. I've sold them just the same with no title. So, what good is a title? What does it gain you accept being a piece of paper? It doesn't serve any more legal right than a bill-of-sale and certificate of origin.

the 1 reason is to know for sure that the 4 wheeler is not stolen...(buyer/seller security) and on all the new ATV's they come with them so why not have them. It a item just like a vehicle and you arent gonna buy a car that doesnt have atilt for 6000 or more dollars.. And it proves ownership. Im not upset at all I just dont think taht there is a way around sales tax

quad2xtreme

There is no way around sales tax if you want a title but it serves no real purpose. You have the same claim to ownership with a bill of sale that lists the serial # and especially if you have the certificate of origin.

I am fully willing to save $300 to the state not to have that piece of worthless paper. Especially since my state does nothing to assist ATV riders with the tax that is collected.

I head to Delaware or WV for all purchases.
