It is not going to hurt anything to move up to 93 octane. Actually, it will help if anything. I own a 400 and 93 is all that i run in it. As far as putting 93 octane in with old 87 octane, it won't hurt anything either. Hope this helps.:D

Just out of curiousity, why do you run 114 Oct. in a stock motor?
Not bashing here, don't believe in it. I just don't understand the expence. If you take 87 oct (5 gallons) add 2 bottles of 104 boost oct,(black bottle) you'll have close to the same oct, and save a bunch of money.
Or if you really want to make a difference. Go to a fuel supplier and ask for pure alkylate. That will help increase your vapor pressure of your fuel (terms octane). If your able to obtain pure alky, use only about 2 oz. per 1 gallon. Don't attempt to use anymore than that. You'll do damage to your motor.

I knew what would happen before I even did it, but I put 110 octane Cam 2 in the 400 EX knoiwing that it would run slower with the stock jetting and I was right. The quad was starving for more fuel throughout the rpm range. Next, I'll try and richen up things and see what happens.
