View Full Version : 400EX/KFX shocks

Anyone have information on putting KFX shocks on a 400EX?:confused:

They're a little too long (16.8" vs. 16 1/4"). You can make it work, but it will raise the ride height and probably ride rough. If you're looking for a closer swap, I'd have to say 450r shocks. They're a lot closer length wise at 16 3/8", but they require some modification to mount up. You'll have to knock the fender bracket nuts off of the frame and use something with a smaller head from the bottom up, and you'll have to grind a little off of the back of each side of the shock mount.

made a huge diffrence...i trail ride and track ride and it made a considerable diffrence for about half the price of elkas

easy swap, just grind a little off the top of the shock where it hits the fender mount bolt. very easy. made a hide differnce in how it rides, handles whoops and jumps way better. defently beats the springy stock ones
