I know this isnt a 450r but there is no LT80 section. I just bought this and another one for $700. The one runs but wont run for more than a few seconds. It will run fine though if you shake it side to side. It will act likes it runs out of gas or is starting to and then when you shake it from side to side it will clear up and go back to running good for a few seconds and then you have to shake it again to keep it runing. We have replaced the reeds (before we found out about the shaking thing), cleaned carb, and cleaned the plug but still it wont run right. Also put in a new air filter because the other one had about an 1/8-1/2 inch of dirt on it. I am going to put in new gas..... maybe water in it. And then readjust the carb i guess. I dont know what else to do. Any ideas at all will be tried!!! thanks in advance and sorry for the loooong post.

Do you have enough gas in the tank? Mabey shaking it is getting gas into the gas pick up thing to the carb?

Check the gas cap is to see if the cap is venting air.
Blow the vent hose to see if it venting. The fuel cock goes bad from time to time

check the wiring, cdi, coil, plug wire. sounds like something could be loose.

This happened to me on my sons lt80. The fuel petcocks are vaccumm operated and have a tendency to go bad. When the engine creates vaccumm their is a hose off the carb that runs up to the petcock that opens it up. Make sure that is no the problem first because it had me confused for a while.

i cleaned the carb again and took it completely apart. Idk if that was the problem but it cleaned up the top end miss and runs great now. We are going to put rings in it because it sounds like it has some piston slap. Thanks for all the help guys.

I'm just shooting in the dark but it sounds like you don't have any fuel in the float bowl. Try adjusting the float in the bowl and clean the carb again. Its definatly a fuel shortage problem....guess I was a little late maybe I should read the whole thread next time
