What does eveyone think is the best riding boot for the money? Don't care about looks, want protection. I currently have the Alpinestars Tech 4s, looking for more protection. Let me know what you think.

They might be for sale soon, size 11, less than one season, got them in July I believe....

I have been trying to decide on a new set of boots, also. I have just about decided to get the Alpinestar boots with the boot sole. I can't remember which model they offer the sole in though.

I saw a set of ragged, used Tech 8's sell for $84 on Ebay the other day. The soles looked like they needed to be replaced.

What is the main difference between the Alpinestar Tech 8's and the Tech 6's? Just the inner bootie thing? What does that do exactly- better fit I'm assuming. How do the A-stars compare to Fox Forma Pro's?

I like the forma pros . I have forma pros for sale, size 11 if your interested. There the black/silver ones. BERiK and Gaerne make great boots too.

http://www.m-cax.com/media/Alpinestars_tech8white.jpg Word is 06 is the last year for them. Then they are redesigning the tech 6 and lowering the price of Tech 10's.
