Ok, I went and got myself in a small mess. The 400EX a-arms worked fine, but I took EVERYTHING that the A-ARMS was attached too off of mine, including the hub, spendle, brake system, tie rods, etc. Then took everything from the 400EX and placed on mine. Everything fit perfectly but the tires at are slanted in. Should I not have used everything and just used the a-arms from the 400EX then everything else from my 300EX or do you guys think the spendles are bent on the 400EX stuff. Just try reply soon.

I want to have everything in line by Monday. Big time races going on over at a near by track and I want to be there.

leave the 400ex spindles on there its better

all stock 400ex front ends on a 300ex tires are going to be slanted in

yea and i hate my setup, it pushes and handles funky, its like i have to slide the back end out to make a sharp turn. Today while riding, the trail i have has a sharp turn where i have to sorta powerslide through , and the stupid thing goes up on two wheels, so i lean over and i goes down on all 4 then WHAM, front bumper straight into a tree 2nd gear, good thing it was only my stock bumper. Its not like my 300 is stock either, wheelspacers, 18in mx tires, etc, i liked the way it handles stock more than now.

Ok, we tried to put the 400EX shocks on my 300EX but they was WAY to long to fit. Even with the 400EX front end. Can you tell me how you got those damned things on? Also, should I have used the 300EX spindles and the tie rod from the 300EX or should I stick with the 400EX spindles and tie rods. I don't have as much of a turning radius nor travel in the front suspension.

Btw, thanks all for responding to my post.

As far as mounting the 400ex shocks you need an adapter.Check out ebay there is 2 different styles for sale there.

im running the 400 arms and it runs sweet great handeling everything yes the top arms is a bit longer on the 400 because of the mount on the frame the upper arm is pushed out a bit further so at the very top of the suspension travel it toes but that wont ever be a problem because the shocks limit its travel..hetrick racing shock mounts are great. if the top of the tire is slanted in towards the frame slightly thats good if not take out the 400 spindels and put the 300 back on

Hey, if you could give me the links for that. Also, my quad has no travel was so ever. It's like it's struted for drag racing after I put those a-arms on it. How can I get it raised up? I still have my 300EX front shocks on it. One more thing, after I do get an adapter kit will this raise my quad back up?

Thanks

You must use the 400 tierods, the 300 ones are to short. I have the 300 spindles on mine and it is still slanted in, its just the geometry of it all. I have also noticed that it wants to push a little more in the corners, and whip around faster when it catches, so it will take a little getting used to. We made my adapter out of box tubing and it is great. We are going to make one where I can raise and lower the settings to give me more clearance or a lower profile, depending on what track im at. With the way the front is now, i have problems everynow and then bending my right tierod, but this is because my homemake adapter is just a little too tall, so if you end up makingone, try to get a copy of an aftermarket one first, so you know the specs.

Sorry about this whole thread. I had them on but we had to switch it all back out after he traded his 400EX for a friggin 15 speaker. Check out the quad though. picturetrail.com/MattFillinger05
