View Full Version : Is the rear brake caliper supposed to move?

I was pushing my 300ex to my shed like 5 min ago and then the rear capilper slid forward and I couldnt push it. It moves front and back when you move it, is that normal.

i think it is normal but check if the brake capilper is loose im positive its soppose to move right and left
Some front to back movement is normal but it shouldn't lock up.

Make sure your rear bearing hub isn't loose. If you observe during a chain adjustment, the caliper and bracket move in a co-eccentric movement like your sprocket hub, if it moved up, your bearing carrier could be loose. Just an ideer

s is the 400ex ones allowed to move back and forth a little too, mine does this.

yea its a floating caliper its totally normal.
