I have 2500 saved up for the 06 450er. I was planning on buying one, but then I started thinking about getting a 250r. My question is what kind of condition 250r could I get with 2500-3000 dollars? What would you buy an 06 450r or a 250r.

The 450 for sure. It will be a thousand times more reliable and will be better in every aspect.

2 strokes arnt as reliable and not as forgiving as 4 strokes. go with the 450.

for 3k...and 250r is going to be pretty much stock. Most 250r's that even compete with the 450's have some serious work done to them. I would keep saving and go with the 450.
