460 hard on a 400ex

my friend wants to bore his 400 out to 440 to race and im told him that theres not much relibility on it so what do u guys think i know there fast but i want your guys opion

i think that if he wants to bore it out he should go with like a 426 or somethin like that

how relieble is a 426 compard to a 416. also i herd from people the 416 has the power like a 440 and is way more reliebe. is a 426 a good move to make from stock

theres definitly more then enough places to get info on these topics.......but in my opinion, to go with the 416.......mi 400ex was a 406 but burned it up runnin to lean.......mi buddy runs for hell bound racing and is totaly rebuilding my motor to a 416......he has a 440ex.......he say's the 416 will pull on a 440 when in a starightaway....the 440 and 460 will be great for corners with all the power and torque on the bottom.....but a 416 is overall better and 100 times more reliable....also with goin with the 440 0r 460, you get into machinieing of the cases witch is just another thing to worry about......a 416 or 416 stroker is your best bet!!!!!!!!!!

ivfe had no problems out of my 440 i love it it hase soooo much bottom end and a good tope end the top end is better than stock but its mainy for bottom end i race xc so thats why its perfect for me
