adding reverse to an 2001 400ex

I know the newer bikes have reverse, I would like to add it to my 2001. what parts do I need?

make that impossible to do, unless you have the entire 05' trans/bottom end

The only way besides getting the 05 engine is to get a little person to ride with you an then push the quad backwards evertime that you to use reverse. You are kind of SOL if you can't find this little person.

I need a link to a microfiche of the 05 bottom end. I wonder if the wiring harness needs to be changed also? I going to do it, just need to see what needs to be changed. I would imagine only a couple of shafts and gears, because the outside looks the same.

I could be wrong, but I bet that the cases are different inside for the extra stuff. By the time that you buy all of the parts it would have been better to get an 05 engine.

u dont need reverse on a 400ex just tuff it out

the bottom end is already apart. most of the parts appear to be the same on the microfiches.

My buddy dosent have reverse and dosent care. He just dumps the clutch and busts a 180.
