Bad problem, KFX key is missing. I'm still searching for it but I cant find it nowhere. So can i take the ignition and out and have a locksmith or someone of that sort make a key for it? And how much do you think that would roughly cost? Thanks a lot

a lot of times there are ignitions on ebay. That might be easier and cheaper. I would check there first.

If the KFX is anything like the hondas, then unplug the ignition, and hook the 2 wires that come out of the wireing harness and hook into the kill switch, and hook them together. It will bypass the kill switch, and you can ride untill you find your key.

I don't know if you have to MAKE a connection, or BREAK a connection, but either way you can bypass the key switch. Get a repair manual (or find somebody with one) and look at the electrical section. You should be able to figure out what you need to do.

my mom lost her key and we took the ignition to a locksmith and he made a key for us no problem and it didn't cost alot

If it is like the 400ex, you can pop out the ignition, and on the black plastic part, there should be a number, bring this number to a kawasaki dealer (and you might need a title for proof of ownership) and they can make a key for you. This happened to my dad and we got a new key made easily.

I lost my key for my 300ex when I had it,just rigged a toggle switch :o

I already wired her up for riding when i lost it. I think im just gonna call a locksmith tomorrow since todays thanksgiving, we're having a ride, but thanks for the info

I have lost many 4 wheeler keys before. Do like BlasterEaten250 said and take your ignition switch out and take it to a kawi dealer and they will make one. It was $10 for a key I think. Then i took that key to a regular keymaker and he copied it for like $2

Good news, I found it. Little kids threw it in their toy pile. I think im gonna go kill them now. BRB lol

on my 450r i just tied the red and black wires together and taped em up havnt touched the ignition since

but on the crf50 you have to clip the wires and let them be
