my 02 400ex has a slight tapping coming from the head at idle and speeds up with higher rpms..honda shop took it apart and say crank end bearings but it sounds like its coming from the head.i wonder if they told me this to sell me a motor job?..valves are all adjusted correctly and all,timing chain is tight,..is there anyone else that ever had this problem?i just did an oil change and it seemed a little quiter...could the head be being starved of oil?...someone please help

no cam! any ideas

my 400ex does that to after valves ajusted. now mine is starting to klonk and after the klonking started the clutch got rilly mest up wair it jerks 3 times after i shift n the clutch will get rilly soft some times or it will get rilly hard.n my 400ex engine started to smoke now. mabey ur getting the same problum i have now.
all my gaskets went bad n it started leaking oil out of all the lines.
n it started blowing smoke out the muffler. n it has a fresh rebuild n valves ajusted.
i jest love my 400ex.

Theres a lot of dealerships out to get you. I would take it to many and if they say its the same problem and if not, then you gotta go with where you here it at.

yea if i keep taking it to every dealer for them to take it apart for 85 an hr i can just buy a new 450r.. lol

dont take it to adelaership take it to a local quad shop or something. They will save you a lot of money. my sponsor had to redo my crank after the dealership put a USED crank in my bike. and then charged me 300 for a new one plus 65 an hr..I would find yourself a quadshop to help you out. My sponsor did everything for 14 an hr.
