MX Wheels and Tires

alright well before i start racing in January i need some new wheels and tires.. i think im goin with mxr4 holeshots.. what size do you think would be good. the 18x8 or the 18x9.. and im gettin wheels too, hiper is to much money so i was thinking douglas beadlocks... What is the best kind of douglas beadlocks out there and how much do they run.. this will only be for the back tires.. and up front i will be running holeshots and stock rims.. So what would you guys suggest? Thanks, Jordan #107

buragrd has a decent set of beadlocks he sells..not a bad price either 220 for 8in.

let me now how those tires work i ran turf tamers on mine 18x11x8's and they ripped like no other on a set of douglas beads

you wont spend that much more to get hipers, you can get the non beadlock wheels for $300 or the beadlocks for around $350 i believe, and get a 10 times better wheel, i'll shoot you a pm :macho

That seems like a lot of money to spend on wheels to me. I like the ITP T-9 Baja wheels. They have inner and outer reinforcing rings. The only way I'd see a beadlock being better is if you plan on running excessively low tire pressure.

If you are going to run MX you at the least need bedlocks on the rear (8x8 is what most people run). Mxr4,s is what I run and really like them (they do wear out faster than some others on hard pack tracks). I run 8psi in the rear (with beadlocks) and 11 psi in the front (no beadlocks).

ah these r rear wheels, i was thinking they were front at first, sorry didnt read all the way, hiper has an 8 inch wheel with integrated hub to work with that tire, they will also be releasing a non integrated hub version of the 8x8 which you may be interested in, i pmed you back
