I remember seeing a thread or post about a type of powdercoat or paint that you put on air-cooled engines to make them run cooler. I think it only came in black. Do you do anything like this pappy, if not could ya shoot me in the right direction? Thanks

ok, the product i use displaces heat and heads and cylinders is listed as one of the parts its listed for.

i dont have any way of telling wether it works or not beside what the company states, but id be happy to work with you to do it.

Im always up for testing. Every since I built the engine in my 300 it has ran hot even tho I always run it on the rich side. I just broke two intake valves and im in the process of getting a bigger cc and higher compression piston. So I want to keep the heat to the minimal. My dad and I are also in the process of making and oil cooler out of a old tranny cooler we got from the junkyard.

ill gladly coat whatever parts you like....however i think the oil cooler will make more of a difference then any coating i could apply

Im ready to take ya up on that deal, hard to get a lot of money when your in school and only 14. Do you think it would be worth PCing the 300ex valve cover a soild red?

i wont powdercoat any engine cylinders or heads. i know others that do it, but the thermal insulation provided by powdercoating is too much to risk in my opinion.

i will molycoat it, but it will be in a matt black finish only.
