good luck get ready to shell out some cash. You have to change the motor mounts. You will have to buy all the accessories like water pump, alternator, radiator, fuel pump, carborator, ignition, and a ton of little stuff that will add up.

i lucked out living about 80 miles away from www.auto-car-engines.com who sell long blocks of every make and model engine you can think of. try looking for something like that, or maybe even order one from them. awesome people.

Price one from your local GM dealer, not as bad as you might think, plus most come with like a 3yr 75000 mile warranty. Or Jasper engines, I've install atleast fifty motors from Jasper and had zero problems, warranty also.

yeah i don't know what i will be doing, this was sort of a spur of the moment idea. my truck is basically just sitting in my shop, cause the stock 350 is a pos. i don't know wether i will end up doing anything with the truck though, cause it hates me big time.

Depending on how crazy you want to get www.sallee-chevrolet.com has all the gm performance crate engines including turn key packages.

its all going to depend how much i end up caring. i saw a video, and it made me want to go do something to it. but then when reality set in i realized, it may not be worth it.

It would be worth it if the truck was in good shape, not one where you could throw a cat thru the bedside. Probly 100% of the body parts and interior, heck every part on the truck can be bought in reproduction parts! Is it short bed or long? Any pics? Either way that late 60's early 70's is my favorite:D

It's all in how much you can do and how much you want to spend. http://www.paddockparts.com/Paddock/assets/html/homepage.asp?mscssid=0E29A302395114EDAA53CA87D2C0C 7B3&Gift=false&GiftID=

yeah the truck is in really good condition. its a 1972 cheyenne, so it has all the options that it could have had. its sucks that its a longbed, but the only rust that is bad, is on the cab corners, which was sort of fixed once, so its not so bad, but anyone that knows anything about those trucks knows that is a major weak point. i don't know what to do, i have to many wants and not enough cash. i need to try and grow a money tree again.:D

383 stroker. from what I hear, there are other companies other then gm performance parts that offer them. And the performance level is higher, with a cheaper price tag.

I'd go with that instead of the big block..............

I'm actually trying to sell a fresh big block out of my 68 K20. 1970 block built to LS6 specs plus some. Block dipped and blueprinted, 10:1 pistons, closed chamber rectangle port heads (which bumps the compression up to 11:1, but runs fine on 93 octane), edelbrock aluminum intake, .500 lift cam, brand new edelbrock 750 carb. If your interested, make me an offer.

In fact the whole truck is for sale (68 3/4 ton, lwb, fleet, 4x4, 454, 4spd, 4:56 gears, factory buckets) along with another 69 c10 (250 I6, 3spd, 2wd, lwb, fleet) if you know of anyone is interested.

your better off goin with a small block, like a 383, they rev higher then big blocks. besides your gonna have to change more then just the motor for the big block.
