My valves are getting noisy, but it is intermittent. I dont think they should need to be adjusted already, I got that done after the 10 hour period. It is backfiring on decelleration, and it never did it as bad as it is now. It doesnt smoke, and is good preformance wise. I just switched to super unleaded (from 87 octane) and noticed a preformance difference, and it runs cooler. Anyone know what is going on?

It was most likely pinging with that low octane (87) fuel. You should always try to run a minimum of 92 in the stock motor. See if the higher octane helps out the situation. Pinging and ticking valves sound similar.

No, I used to run 87 and now I run 92. It deffinately sounds like valve chatter, but it could be something else. It is a ticking noise. I am going to check my chain, because a guy I know had a loose chain on his ds650 and it made some funky noises.
