a-arm removal help

How do you remove the a-arm stems from the streering knuckle? I've been hitting it with a hammer for an hour and am getting nowhere. Is there a tool I should be using? What tool are you guys using, and did you have to use a torch?

go to the frequently asked questions section under the general forums there is a thread in there about how to remove them its like the fourth one from the bottom on the first page. i used method one and it worked amazingly great didnt even break a sweat
