Last weekend we drove to the coast to pick up this 250R. We first saw this quad when we were in Redding CA visiting. He wanted 2400 for it. we called on it, he brought it by for us to take a look at. He said hed take 1900 for it. Problem was we couldnt take it back to Oregon that day because to rent a U haul was like 200 bucks......... Wasnt worth it to me.

So anyways we met him 2 weeks later at the coast to pick it up. Its an 86 all stock except for the Fly bars and he took the headlight off. Hes sending the stock bars and light to me. It ran good for awhile. So after it ran good it would just cut out and die. Turns out there was a plug on the end of the gas cap hose, not letting any air into the tank. STUPID PROBLEM TO HAVE. Other than it runs strong.
I think im going to clen it up then turn around and sell it, make a few bucks. What do you guys think?

Like new all white race plastics are on the way.
The seat is off because its getting a new cover put on it.

Not too bad, looks like a good find. I think you should spend some time and money to restore it a bit before you sell it. What bore is it on?

If you want to make the most you can off of this quad, then tear it down, get the swingarm, a arms, frame, motor mounts, head stay, foot pegs, spindles, hubs, etc, have it all powdercoated back to stock color. You already have new plastics, the OEM light, OEM bars, and your getting the seat re covered, which is a big step in the right direction. Find a set of used stock gold rear rims, and new stock rear tires, replace all the berrings and seals. What ever you do, do not touch the motor other than painting the cases. There is a very good chance that since that motor is still on its original bore that it has never been taken apart, you want to keep it that way. If you put about a grand into this, you will be able to get alot more out of it if you sell it.

I love the haulers. big improvement over my skate 2's with about half the paddle left. I was surprised how good that stock are hooked up and rode.
