My cousin sold his camo 00' Kodiak 400 4x4 for a dirt bike and now doesn't really like it anymore. He's wanting a new sport quad and I may possibly trade my Sportsman in for one too. We mainly just like to mess around on them, race, wheelies, and fast trail riding. Here are the ones he and I are looking at getting and need to know what you guys and gals think we should get.

Yamaha Raptor 660
Polaris Predator 500
Kawasaki KFX 400
Honda 400 EX

I will prolly get a brand new one if I get one and I don't know if he is going to get a new or used one.

I'm kinda a newbe here with the sport quads so help me out here.

Thanks!

If you want a good reliable quad that runs good, is fast, and will never break down get a new 400ex. They are great on trails also. Plus it now has reverse. Polaris would be a BAD CHOICE. The Raptor is probably ok. So is the kawasaki. The Honda is hands down the most reliable though.

have u ever ridden a predator, they are a much better ride than the EX, although both are fun

get the 450r or yfz hands down the two best quads for trails or for racing so either one is good.

I gotta say it just cause i got one so here it is. Get a 400ex, all i do is trail ride and with the right pipe you can have awesome bottom end made just for trails.

Probably the 400ex since its the simplest. By that i mean it barely ever needs maintenance (besides oil changes and cleaning the filter), its air cooled so if you take it apart you wont have to worry about antifreeze, there are so many aftermarket parts out for them and almost all of them are cheap. If your just looking for a fun quad that you can start up everyday and give hell i'd get the 400ex.
