I was just wonderin how yzf, crf hybrids compare to the production 450's. Lets say even mods with pipe filter and jets?

it would come down to what kind of setup it had suspension/a arm wise etc...... and rider ability...i believe it would be close with equal riders

Personally, I would get a CRF hybrid in an aftermarket frame with 250r geometry. That way you get beefed up 450 power, and 250r handling and looks.

well i found out for myself today... i finally got my hybrid all worked out and got to race today.. keep in mind i have not raced in about 8 months and today was my first day back to the track.. but with my YZ426 hybrid i was right with all of the 450s so i tihnk that once i get back into the groove of racing i will have a VERY competitive bike.. if i was on the top of my game today i wouldve podiumd (sp).. maybe :p this oughta be an intresting topic..

Welp, kind of a dumb comparrison to compare a pipe n filter hybrid to a yfz, simply because the reason people make hybrids is because they have a prefectly dialed sick suspension on a 250r or 400ex, and dont want to change to a new style of riding, just want more power. I mean who has a stock 400ex suspesion and everything with a hybrid in it.

Alot of people think that... However this past 2 weekends showed the contrary. The YFZ's are fast, I don't want to start that battle, but my hybrid put 4 or 5 of them to shame in a full on drag race at Glamis as well as at China wall. Everyone in my group went out and bought them except for me, 14/38 gearing on all our bikes and I was only 1st-3rd gear on the rides and everyone else was 1st-4th/5th on the rides.

it really comes down if you want to put the time and effort into the hybrid and have a unique bike that people go "what is that" vs. buying a over priced new bike. and dont get me started on the yfz's they are great bikes. but are unreliable as a FIAT.

to be honest i am very pleased with the work, effort, time and money that went into my hybrid.. and i am very pleased with the outcome.. though it was more work than just saying umm i want that one right there.. it is truly my creation and it does run with all the 450s.. even those with worked suspension etc. etc. etc.

Why is that a dumb question? Speaking horsepower wise? where did i say anything about suspension etc...?

id have to say the crf should kill.... i knwo a fwe guys up here that race hybrids.... and they usually stomp the production quads... granted, they can only race the 16-24 and open classes... but a stock crf motor is faster than the 450r motor....
