i have mounted 86 -250r a arms on the front of my 97 -300ex.
i dont know if i should bolt it so tight that the arm is hard to go up n down when i put my weight on the front of the 4 wheeler. or should they be bolted up snugged but they function loose when i put my weight down on it?
could somebody tell me just how tight or loose they suppose to go up n down? i would appreciate it.

86 a-arms are the only ones you cant use on a 300ex frame without some mods....best a-arms to put on it are stock 400ex...or 87-89 250R with the 300ex spacers.....

i had them on there for awhile now, now that you'd said that, I'm wondering what year they are, because i didn't change the spacers at all, and the arms are gold color. the only thing is, it looked like the spacers was shaved a little so i just tighten my bracket on tighter to compensate the space. every so often it'll jar loose and i will have to retighten. Might be best i'd changed the spacers over to the 300ex, i have no idea, Just thought to ask before I went thru all the trouble.

When you tighten the bolts down the bushing spacer should stop the bracket from tightening down on the arms, allowing free movement. It it gets hard to move, then you're spacer isn't the right size.

basically...get yourself a set of stock 400ex a-arms...that works perfect...no changing spacers or anything...
