yea, if you are going to use one of these be sure to dab the screw and carb body with silicon to prevent it from dropping out from vibribration. My screw fell out once from vibration. The directions recommended the dab of silicon but no- i never read the directions,... lol

my local honda dealer had them in stock, the one i have is made by msr but you can find em on ebay as well.

chad, my directions didnt say anything about silacone.what would make that screw fall out as apposed to a stock one???they both screw in the same way.
also what good would silacone do?once it sets up and you adjust it in the furture you rip the silacone, so it wont be locked in place anymore any way right?

good questions.

The silacone, once screw is turned, acks as resistance. True, there is zero difference in threads, but the aftermarket type has heavier bottom portion of the screw and with vibration causes it to eventually back out.

I would have to assume that if your fuel screw is "backing out" you would be riching up the mixture and your going to notice a difference in performance

The air/fuel screw doesnt affect much above 1/2 throttle. I wouldn't think it would idle well though.. lol.

Does anyone know of one that will work with the 04/05 450R carb? I tried one and it didn't work but I haven't really looked around.

The fuel screws only fit FCR carbs.

There is a company that makes one for the 04/05 carb, I have one on my 04 450R and it makes tuning a lot easier. I believe the web site is 450rorg or 450r hq and one of their sponsers woodard specialties makes them.

Good luck,

jp

SUDCO.com is an excellent resource for carb parts. Give them a try.

I didn't buy my fcr screw from these ppl though. I don't have the company info handy right now, but you can search my past posts that pictures this screw and indicates the contact info too.

hope this helps.
