Im trying to find a bigger reliable quad like the V-force 700 or raptor 660, i want something that will require little maintenence but has electric start and reverse, maybe an 05 400ex if i could find one cheap enough, the DS650 is out of the picture i rode one before and didnt like the feel of it at all,

so with that said can anyone help me?

z400, but all quads require maintance. if you are too lazy to take care of a quad than dont get one. The only quads that you will wrench on everytime you ride it are race quads

I know all quads require maintanence. Is the 450R like that? where you have to work on it ever time you ride it?

i dont know of any kind of quads like that, alot of people like to exagerate on how bad other peoples quads are (usualy yamaha's get a bad rap because of this) all of the quads comming out now are very reliable. the 450's arent that differnt than any other bike, i would change the oil in them every 4 or so rides and change the oil filter every other oil change. then i rebuiled my bikes every 3 or 4 years depending on how much i have ridden that year. the horror stories that you hear usualy come from people that either got a lemon or never took car of their bike.

as long as you change the fluids on time, keep it clean, lubricate moving parts, and check on loose bolts when requied, your quad should last you years and years

all quads have the same maintainance needs, except for like hopped up racers, but im talking like ported, high compression, highly modified motors

i have never had a problem with my 450r, even with all the abuse of xc races i put it through, i just do what i said above, and it has been good to me

when i say race quad i meana quad that gets raced. If you race a bike or a quad you will have to work on it all the time (if you are riding it hard enough). As far as the yfz and 450r, i would say they are jsut as reliable as the good ol 400ex.

cool 300ex

Keep up on the maintence like they said and you will be good. Also depending on how hard you ride it. Me personally i like honda and yamaha thebest. I use to own all hondas but now i own all yamaha's my dad still has his good old honda.
