What preparation do I need to do when putting the cases back together? Can I spray something on the cases & gasket to help the cases from leaking oil. The last two times I'd split the cases
. I"d had to a spray permatex seal to the bottom of the cases to
help keep the cases from leaking. I only use honda gaskets.

u can use anourbic seeler or sumthing like that on the gaskets to help seal. main thing is make sure the cases r clean, free of old gasket and as free of nics as possible.

I have the same problem as 45lt80, I just had my engine rebuilt (by a professional) and it leaks tranny fluid from the cases but it seems to be a slow leak. Could i have to much fluid in their?

Some people use screw drivers and pry them apart. Don't get me wrong I do it too. But if your engine is hard to get apart you can score the gasket surface and have a small knick in it. You can use a dab of gasket maker or silicone in those spots, don't get too excited tho. I've even used a dab of epoxy on a good sized chunk that was taken out and then sanded smooth with case.
