ah..dont feel bad most of the old stuff works just as good as the new stuff. its just not as much fun to talk about owning.

on the rear shock of the 400ex's and 450r, the shock is not directly connected to the swing arm...it is instead, connected to to pieces that kinda look like dogbones...these dogbones are the linkages...you have an upper and lower linkage....the lower linkage stays the same and the upper linkage is what elka and gt thunder change....i might be confusing myself here as it has been awhile since i thought about it but...the stock linkage puts the bottom of the shock too high...it cause one heck of a buck from the rear suspension...the new elka/gt linkages move that mounting position a little lower and forward reducing that buck and giving you a littl e more shock travel at thesame time...if you are using you stock rear shock with this set up...it will need revalved...i had it done to my 400ex and it made a noticable difference...
