In football 3 weeks ago, I broke my collar bone. It is growing back together overlapped. Is anyone else ever been in the same situation.

i broke mine when i was 8 and it overlapped, and didnt affect anything. The only thing is that it will be a weak spot because i just broke it again just by falling off of my 4-wheeler. and it is healing bad again, my doc said that the collar bone never seems to straighten out...

I broke mine when I was 13 and it was overlapped. It built up a huge calcium deposit but never seemed to straighten out. You can definitely tell a difference in shoulders but has never caused a problem for me.

I broke mine in 2001 and it healed overlapped and has a point to it doesn't bother me too much. I had 4 different opinions about haveing it set correctly surgicaly when I broke it they all said no need.

Your collarbone is under pressure, and when you break it thats what happens. I've never seen someone with a broken collarbone that didn't overlap. I broke mine in two places 5yrs ago, and it never mended/healed back together. My body just formed calcium around it like a rubberband. You can still feel it move sometimes. I asked my doctor about it, but he said as long as it didn't hurt they would not do surgury on it.:huh
