what is the best motor oil and weight for a 400ex

hey i was wondering what kind of oil is the best

i use 10x40 in the summer and 10x30 in the winter

oil is an opinion thing. I ran silkolene 20w-40 for a while, now i run Rotella 15w-40. Either is great, but some people are very picky about oil. The mechanic at teh shop i work at suggest rotella and that all he runs and all the shop sell for oil changes.

15w40 klotz nothing better, i put it in all my bikes and drink it with dinner :o

I'm using Amsoil 0w 40 full synthetic now and I'm glad I made the switch from GN4.

I agree, Shell Rotella is the shizznit. And I have run the 5w40 full synthetic Rotella T since Mobil 1 switched formulas and have been very satisfied. Very high quality heavy duty synthetic :o ;)

i use the honda 5w30

20w50 in my quad....used to run the honda high perf but it was puffin blue smoke after not even a year.....its now been burnin oil almost 2 years and people still think i have a 440.:p
