Anyone got any tricks/suggestions for putting new grips on a new set of handlebars? Water & soap? Double sided tape and lighter fluid? thanks in advance.

We always put ours on dry if you have an aircompressor use the nozzle blow air under the grip and push it on same for the other side you will need to put a small hole in the end of the grip otherwise the other grip will go flying off. Then we safety wire them. Others use hairspray, brake cleaner, grip glue.

I'll second that. Grips slide right on like butter and are absolutely frozen solid once it's dry, which doesn't take long at all :D

I used to use my air compressor and grip glue, but you don't even need that stuff with the 3M weatherstrip adhesive!

double sided tape that is used to put on golf grips is the strongest thing I have found. 2nd to that is some glue called ShoeGoo

I have heard the hairspray thing before, and I have tried it, I don't know if I am doing something wrong but it never works for me. The grip glue works alright, but the safety wire thing works best in my opinion.

Hairspray never works for me either. Spraypaint has been the best I have used so far. No problems with it.
