Stock Bore piston 11:1 compression & Stage2 Cam.

If you dont want to open up the engine. just a Stage1 cam.

But you will see a lot more out of an 11:1 piston and Stage2 cam. You just need a local shop to hone your sleeve for you before you put in the new piston.

There are many ways to get more power and still be reliable.

Good exhaust system
good airflow
more aggressive cam
porting
higher compression
better carb
Aftermarket CDI

Agree

Good exhaust system - he has HMF Slipon & FMF Header. Pretty good setup.

good airflow - He's got aftermarket filter. Should be goo there.

more aggressive cam - Agree

porting - Sure, but if putting in the money, I'd get a 297cc to go with it.

higher compression - Most definatly. 11:1 is perfect for 300ex's if oyu want ot use pump.

better carb - 400ex Carb + 350x air boot. Great upgrade.

Aftermarket CDI - Sure.. but I'd put that in with a full engine job. 300ex doesn't have awsome upgrades like the CRF ignition on a 450r.

I removed the air box and air boot... Just clamped a $10 foam filter right on the carb. I change it after each moto.

The down side is washing the quad... The filters tend to get wet from spraying the engine with a hose so it has to be covered with a plastic bag before washing.

get an outerwears prefilter. itll take care of the water. water beads off of mine when it touches it.

Thanks for all the ideas guys and no we had to cut about 5 inches off the header for it to connect to the pipe
