atc250r in trx250r frame

The rear shock on the ATC's have a shorter hose for the rezzie, and is also valved differently than the TRX shocks, but other than the rezzie it will bolt up. The swingarm is the same, the motors have some internal differences, but are the same on the outside.

An 85 swingarm will bolt on a 86-87 TRX chassis but you will need to use the carrier, axle, and COMPLETE rear caliper set-up from the 85. The 85 caliper mounts differently, the 86 ATC caliper is the same as the TRX.

i have an 85 atc and a 87 trx and my swinger and engine bolted right up to it. ?? how sure are you that it's only for 86's? lol

ONLY 86 ATC and 86 TRX use the same swinger, carrier, calipar mount etc (IF YOUR SWAPPING FROM 85 to TRX)

85 swingers are smaller square-stock, the carrier dont fit any other yr, calipar mounts diffrently, upper shock mount is also diffrent and the resi-hose is shorter etc.... thats what Im trying to tell you..

I also have an 85 ***-end and motor on my kids 86 trx

what yr shock/linkage you runnin'?:D or did you mill down the 85 upper?

There was a 450r with a 250r motor at a local track practice night. It ran pretty good.. the kid had to be like 12 though i ate him alive on the 400ex
