i know how to find TDC of the piston but ware does the came have to be on top dead center along with the sprocket.

up and towards the back at an angle..if you were sitting on the bike it would be pointing towards your crotch.

Hey Steve, when you bring the piston to tdc the cam lobes will be facing either up and towards the rear, or down and forward. To me it's easier to do at the up and rear positon, because the intake lobes would be trying open the valves. :cool:

It is a 4 stroke so the piston will be at TDC twice...if checking valves you want the lobes of the cam to point toward the rear of the quad. The cam timing marks will be lined up with the timing marks on the cam tower...

Pop the plug off on the left side case, and get a light down in the hole, there are two marks, F and T, line it up with the mark next to T.

take the big allen bolt off right side case and line up mark. then pull valve cover off and line up cam marks cam should be leaning back. but biggest thing is BUY REPAIR MANUAL TOURQE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!
