My top chainroller of my YFZ450 keeps breaking. Is there a cheap mod I can make myself?

Did you get the "re-location" bracket, to move the roller up about an inch?

I don't think Yamaha makes one, but several aftermarket companies do.

Mine is a PEP which I ordered through Baldwin Motorsports. It was $20-$25 if I remember correctly.

Do you really even need one?? I took mine off and have had no problems. Has anyone heard or seen anything bad happen if you don't run the top roller??

Thanks alot for your helpfull reply. I am in Africa and it is not only difficult to get spares, but it is also very, very expensive here. So the easiest solution for me is to fabricate one. I have turned numerous rollers out of teflon on my lathe.

for the most part the repositioned roller is for long travel suspension.....it not really needed unless you jump quite a bit or like i said change suspension in the rear.
