Has anyone ever converted a shaft drive to a chain drive??? Can this be done??? I have heard of people doing this but i have never seen it yet. I was told you can take off the shaft drive unit and the output shaft on the engine is the same and you can put a sprocket on and run a chain and a little cover modi. This motor is off a 250sx. Any help would be great. I'm looking to put it in a 250x/300ex

Hey dude have you saw that the shaft comes out the back and not from the side??? I think who ever told you this was trying to impress you and they lied through there teeth...

Dont hold me against it though but I dont see how it could work...

Right, gotcha. :D

I dunno, if you took the shaft off and looked to see if it had a place to mount a sproket I guess it would be possible.

Chain is so much better than shaft, I've had more problems with the 1 shaft drive bike i own than the 3 chain drive bikes i've owned.

Ok guys it does come out from the engine and goes to a 90* turn for the shaft. I was told you can pull the cover and the shaft unit comes out with it. Then you trim the cover to get rid of the shaft drive unti and you can slap a sprocket and chain on the engines out put shaft just like normal. Like i said i was told you can do this but i have yet to see it. In some ways i think i'm being lied to by a smooth talker who don't know s**t. Thats why i asked you guys. Some of you seem to know quads inside and out and in your sleep, hahaha. Thanks guys, keep the post coming.
