TRX CDI Mod? What is it, and How do you do it?

What is this Mod that everyone keeps talking about on the TRX?

You Cut a wire to the CDI Box and get extra RPM?

Anyone know what me talkin about?

Nope, the electronics on the '06 closely resembles the CRF450X dirt bike, they can do the same mod to the dirt bike. Its called the "Pink Wire Mod"....

It only works on the 2006 TRX...just want to clarify that 1 last time before anyone goes cutting wires on their CDIs and then I get blamed :D

You just cut a wire on your CDI, i'll have to look on my bike when I get it back this weekend. I'm pretty sure its the green wire on the far left plug of the CDI. The green wire should be on the right side of the plug if you're looking at the quad from the front. I'm not positive on this because its been over a month since I've done it.....

DONT CUT ANYTHING UNLESS YOU HAVE A 2006....I'll get complete pictures this weekend.......

ITS THE ONLY OUTTER PLUG ON THE CDI WITH 4 WIRES GOIN INTO IT AND CUT THE GREEN I CUT MINE THE DAY AFTER I GOT IT YOU FEEL A DEFINATE CHANGE

i pulled the green wire out of the 4 wire connector under the nose pice in the front , i hope this is the cdi lol.(has 3 connectors on the box) if you take out the yellow plastice insert in the connector you can insert a pick under the terminal holder and pull the wire out. be sure to put some dieelectric grease in the hole to keep moister from getting in the connector and tape the wire out of the way.did i take the correct wire out ?
this way if you ever want to put it back you can just stick the wire back in.
i am not sure if this was the correct wire so you might wait till
we find out for sure?

Just get the HRC kit and you will get a nice plug for your cdi among many other useful things.

did it to mine today..she flat out strokes now.. i love the 06!!!!
