450r rear shock question

I have elkas all around my 450 but they are set for like a 240 pd rider and I am about 180. The fronts seem ok for the most part, but they rear is to stiff. It is a dual rate with compression and rebound adjustment. I am wanting to have it revalved, but may trade on an 06 before long, my question is if I get it revalved for my 04 with the elka linkage, how would it perform on an 06 and would I have to get it redone again to work properly on an 06?

I'm not sure but you may need a longer shock for the '06. The '06 comes with a different link and a longer swing arm. If the same shock does work you will probably have to revalve it to make it work with the '06. This is just my opinion not fact.

The rear wont work unless the shaft is changed, free length will be too short.
