I was wondering who your provider was and what speed you are running at. I always thought mine was pretty good but i have a feeling its better than i thought after looking around.

my service provider is direcway, and what really sucks and i blame it on them - i can download a file for a little while with a range of 30 - 75 kb/s then it will go down to 1kb/s, stay there for a long time, and then totally lose connection....WTF??? anyone know whats up?

its not ur computer, its ur ISP.
I just got finished downloading something and now its up to 4146.3 kbps.
and the reason it varies each time is because its just the nature of the internet and ur computer but they are generaly pretty accurate.

My connection sucks pole:grr: But I refuse to pay $50 a month for a high speed connection. If I have to dl anything big I do it at work and stick it on a disc and bring it home. I have also been known to go to the library and use their connection.
I wish one of my neighbors was wireless, so I could steal from them:devil:
