Is this for the 04/05 or the 06 model? With a lenght of 15" I guess it is for an 06? Never measured my 05 box...

I have heard the lids are interchangable. I need to get one of these.

How does that work? The filter is on top of the airbox lid?

rocky mountain has been selling them for awhile now.

Does Outerwear make an airbox lid? If so, that's what I'd like to have.

from my understanding K&N just globally announced manufacturing of this model lid for this model. In other words, I know that they were making other kids for other quads (like 400ex), but I was emailed recently by K&N about the 450r model lid release so I thought I'd pass on the word either way.

Outerwear makes a cover for the airbox. I have one and I put it over my lid that I cut like the HRC lid. I then just clamp it down like normal. EHS Racing (http://www.ehsracing.com/EHS_WEB/Products/AirBox_Covers/TRX450R_EHS_ABX.aspx) makes a lid that uses an Outerwear that is pretty slick.

are these the same as runnin a no lid setup, cuz i would like to get somethin that cleans before it hits my UNI on a dusty track and then I wouldnt have to clean it all the time.

basically, the same as running a no lid setup, but with the dust filtering before the air enters the air filter.

I might have to pick one of those up, I am sick of cleaning my filter all the time.

additional:

If I were to run this K&N lid, I would not use it in place of my air filter, but in addition to. Use both, but this lid will cut down on the dust in the air filter and also provide an "open airbox" response.

i have tried this lid and they work good . how ever i found out it needed frequent cleaning.. imo get the outer wear lid with the velcro and cut your old lid and glue this in place the velcro pieces started coming loose after a while and it was a pain to put them on after removing.with the outerwear modified to fit the stock lid it required alot less cleaning and it cost 1/3 the price.
