I was wondering what is the difference in the rev boxes from company to company? The prices are way different. What is a good one to go with? I was looking at a procom.

for an inexpensive one we have been running a magnum cdi which is made by procomp (a lot of the CDI's are)

go with a GOOD CDI, not white bros, big gun, ect... Get a GT thunder. the others are xr250r boxes that make it hard to start. a GT thunder one is one made for the 400ex that has no starting issues and is available in two curves. have not heard anything about magnum but i am willing to bet it is an XR250r box as well.

just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't work just like the others and no its not an xr250 box and doesn't have starting issues in the winter.

i was just guessing it was like the other inecspesive boxes. The cheaper ones like WB do work, just not the way they are supposed to work. the magnum may be a great box, i have just not heard anything about them or know anyone that uses them yet.

for the price the magnum is the $hit. I had one on a 400 I sold and wish I would have kept it.

rev boxes do nothin for a 400ex. 400ex's stop making power in the 8000s for rpm's. but if u are going to get one u will gain 1mph and big gun claims a 1hp improvment

Magnum said they give 2hp gain. and if you say they stop making power in 8000 rpm then why would it give you 1 more hp like you said?

How the heck do you get 1 more mph out of another 1,000 rpm. In every manual transmition four wheeler the rpm relates directly to the wheel speed which relates to your cruz'n speed.

i have a wb cdi box on my 400
i noticed a diff.
it runs alot smoother, feels like the it has more power in the lower rpm range too...and does start better

the power increase is due to an altered ignition timing curve, not how high it revs.

alot of people say wb suck, and alot say there great, so it must depend on the quad and setup then or what? Or nobody realy know what there talking about?
