I was at Tomahawk Mx Park this weekend. Member KH426 and I did a test on the 06' Honda 450r. I tested it in it's ALL STOCK form and then we took the Baffle out to see the difference in actual power. Max Hp # didn't change much but there was a noticable difference in the low end as you can see from the graphs. The 06' deffentaly needs to be richend up on the low end. We went ahead and put a Dynojet kit in. We dialed the carb for running the bike with the Baffle out. Impressive power for a bone stock bike. I use 18inch dyno tire for testing. That is why it only went 67mph.

Do you happen to have a comparison between a 04/05 and a 06?

Let me check on the 04/05 stock runs. I know I have tons of 04/05 with work done.

what size jets did you switch too? Also how many turns did you got out on the air screw?

The jetting with the Dynojet kit called for a 124 main, needle in the 4th clip from the top, and 2.0-2.5 turns on the mixture screw.

I ended up with a DJ 124 main, needle in the 3rd clip from the top, 3 turns out on the mixture screw.

I would only guess that a 06 HRC will do mid 40s without a problem judging from over feel of the machine. It literally goers crazy if you are hooking on a trail...my guess would be 45.8 to 46.4..
maybe somebody has dynoed one.

Those are some good numbers. There has been a lot of variance and it would be good to compare an 05 to 06 side by side...both HRC equipped.

Turning the mixture screw IN Leans it out. Turn it out and it Richens it.

Thanks for including the torque curve! So many people dwell on horsepower, but the real story is the torque....but these usually get left out.

Interesting that max horsepower (top speed) is around 7,500, yet max torque (acceleration power) is closer to 5,500!
