Well my buddy ( hes 7 mind you ) races a KTM and has always said I should get a KTM quad. ( they dont make these ), well i sold my 400ex motor and have a full motocross chassis. I have a stock frame that im starting from. The motor im interested in buying is a 1996 KTM 400exc. The motor ran good supposevely. I want to put this in my stock frame because it is the same price as a 400ex motor but has a radiator and stuff. I have a mig welder and i can lay a good bead. Will this be strong enough? I am also going to gusset the thing by front shocks, behind the a-arms, and by foot pegs.
WIll this have enough power to stay with 450's? I can rebuild this motor if anythign goes wrong with it. well top end at least. Let me know what you think.

I don't know anybody that sells a motor mount kit for the ktm 400's maybe a 525 but you hardly see them out.... IMO you'd be better off with the crf or yzf motor...

these are a lot more expensive.
What would i need besides custom made bushings for the engine and engine mounts. A radiator, extended kick shaft-theres a problem ...mmk i get yoru drift.

I would go for it the ktm motors are very power full the 400 seem to be the best 4-stroke xc bike ktm has although I would go for the 450 or 525 but the 400 should have a good amount of power you can always bore it

ktm and polaris now have a partnership, and hopefully by next year there will be a ktm quad out, that would be sweet!

ewwww the polaris frame is just retarded. now imagine a 520 in a yfz chassis where it is much much lighter and and easier to control

i wouldn't mess with a hybrid, and just buy a yfz450.
